The Police Pipe and Drum Corps of Florida was formed in 1990 with the specific mission of honoring fallen law enforcement officers and firefighters killed in the line of duty; and to support the law enforcement and fire service communities through the ancient art of bagpiping.
Our membership is comprised of active, former and retired law enforcement officers, firefighters, past members of the military services and carefully selected civilians from many professions. The band also has Associate Members from across the State of Florida and elsewhere in the United States.
The Police Pipe and Drum Corps of Florida performs at many police and fire functions as well as civic events throughout South Florida such as: parades, weddings, funerals, graduations, grand openings and other events requesting bagpipes. In addition, the band has performed at many charity events, such as fund-raisers for Operation Brave Kids and the United States Marine Corps Toys For Tots. The band performs at many military functions and dinners, and other social events as requested.
The Police Pipe and Drum Corps of Florida was the Florida Grade Five Champions in 1992 and has participated in Police, Military and National Memorials. Each May the Band travels to Tallahassee and Key West to participate in those respective police memorial ceremonies. The band did a successful concert tour of Ireland in 2001 and a performance at the Greater Cleveland Police Memorial Tattoo in Cleveland, Ohio.
